My name is Amruta Chimote. I am the artist behind the small art venture called Swell The Chorus. I am a freelance illustrator presently living in Toronto.
I love philosophy, literature, vintage jazz, and everything cats and these are the subjects that provide essential inspiration for my art. I absolutely love doodling away on Procreate as much as I love getting messy with gouache and oil pastels.
I specialise in greeting cards and surface-pattern design. I enjoy using bold colours and quirky motifs to produce cohesive and visually pleasing artwork.
I have a retail presence in a cute gift store located in Downtown Toronto. At this location, I sell illustrated greeting cards and other stationery, ceramic coasters, cotton tea towels, t-shirts and much more. Recently, however, I have rented a spot at one more location in the city, and I am already in the process of setting up my presence at this store located at the Beaches area.
I have also presented at some of the local pop-up markets where I did quite well. I will also be presenting at the Toronto Art Crawl 2025.
